Dear Friends,
I created Pickle Party Salon as a place to create and foster creative collaboration.
I'm particularly keen on projects which highlight the mystical oneness among all beings, those deep aspects of aliveness and consciousness that we all share.
I chose the name Pickle Party as a way of thumbing my nose at the notion that a creative pursuit can be too ridiculous or trivial to warrant pursuit or publication. These notions miss the point of creative activity, which are properly joy, discovery, and connection among people. None of the proper fruits of creativity require the product to be Important or Great.
I chose the name Pickle Party because I love to ferment vegetables. I love to get with friends and share cucumbers grown in our gardens, and to pack them tight into jars. I love to bite into a crisp and tangy full sour kosher pickle after listening to it fizz in the jar above my bed for a month.
I like the mild vague sexual connotation of "Pickle Party" and I really like that I've made a site with this name which is not a porn site. I've found that placing sexual connection into a category separate from other connection has been harmful to myself, and so this site is a piece of me reclaiming that I can have a deeply satisfying Pickle Party sharing my love of for example geometry, or collaborating with my friend in creating a fireplace in my rock garden.
